Life and Career
Born in the Ixelles section of Brussels, she was attracted to theatre from early adolescence. Her first screen role was in The Motorcycle Girl (1993), a short film by Stéphan Carpiaux. After that, she played a number of roles for French television.
In 1997 she won the Jean Vigo and the Jean Carmet prizes for her role in Pacal Bonitzer's Encore.
Studied Dramatic Art at the Insas in Brussels and Singing with Joelle Vautier and Raymonde Viret.
Mother of two girls named Lise (b. 2002) with Yann Tiersen, and Jessie (b. June 2008) with Guillaume Bounaud.
The confirmation of her talent came in 1998, when Régnier and Élodie Bouchez received the Prix d'interprétation féminine (Best Actress) at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival for their roles in La vie rêvée des anges by Erick Zonca. She has stated that her idol is film actress Sandrine Bonnaire.
